no weekend of mine is complete without venturing out to a new eatery.  case in point: anchovies & olives on the hill.  located in the madison corridor, this new ethan stowell establishment boasts simple seafood dishes with farm-to-table accoutrements in a tapas-style presentation. i’ve been hearing about this joint for weeks, so my friend and i decided to stop in for a pre-theatre bite.  theres a small bar in the restaurant, and i thought to press my luck and ask if they served fernet.  thank god that foodies know what to stock in their liquid library, for the response was positive.  all in all, the meal was pretty decent, but a word to the wise–stick with an assortment of starters; the entrees were like an ugly stepchild.  i could see myself giving this place a second chance….ok, and the cute spanish bartender didnt hurt either.
